Media Ecology: The Technological Society- How Real is Our Reality? Also, How Reality is Actual.. Everything is Every thing.
Yes, yes, yes, technology is making this generation in certain fairly lazy. We have motorized scooters now that can get us from point A to point B, even if we can walk. We have dishwashers that clean dishes for us, alternatively of carrying out the dishes ourselves. We have grocery stores that we can pay a visit to to get meat and vegetables, rather of hunting ourselves and having our personal garden. We are letting the movement of society direct us in our techniques of lives. Not absolutely everyone goes along with society there are some individuals left who do stick to old traditions. However, the majority of society continues to adapt, learn, and recreate new inventions out of old inventions and concepts. As a society, we tend to get bored with doing the very same thing more than and over againtherefore, new things have to be produced to preserve us busy, hold us entertained, and to maintain us going with the hustle and bustle of our life.
Agreed! It is why I have steadfastly tried to hold any older autos we have versus replacing them with new ones. We finally broke down and got a van that is an ’03 but the last one particular was a ’95, my husband’s truck is and 90, my bike is a ’77, his are ’79 & ’80, my mother’s truck is an ’86, and they are all so considerably simpler to perform on than the newer autos.
Shanna11, this is a gross generalization of the younger generation(Milennial). Yes, your generation is more technologically savvy than mine(Boomer) but that savvy and expertise DOES NOT preclude intellectual and academic expertise. One has practically nothing to do with the other. A lot of young Milennials know how to do Plenty without the aid of technology. Shanna11, sadly several of us Boomers have forgotten what it is like to be young and have been criticized by the older generations simply because we lived in a society that was different from theirs. HOW WE Forget!
I guess I believed you wanted them to respond. I want they would. There are many advantages and disadvantages to technology. The significant disadvantage is that we loose concrete capabilities. We require to preserve our concrete skills. By consciously practicing and keeping concrete expertise (such as handwriting, spelling, drawing/painting, simple arithmetic, book/periodical reading, analysis expertise, etc.) we can live safely with technology.
